0 FRENCH CUT BEANS PORIYAL
This is one of the simplest and easiest dry poriyal that can be prepared in minutes with very few ingredients...french cut style is nothing but cutting the long beans in the middle into half and then few big cuts.
French cut beans - 1 pack
Onion - 1 small chopped into thin long slices
Mustard seeds - very few
Urad dhal - very few
Curry leaves - few optional
Salt as needed
Oil - 1 tbsp
Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
Jeera/cumin powder - 1/4 tsp
Heat oil in a kadai/pan and add mustard seeds, urad dhal and curry leaves...when they start to splutter up add onions and fry for 2 - 3 minutes...you can add beans now itself and start to fry ( since it is going to be fried together...the onions also will get cooked and fried well along with beans...so no need to wait till it is well cooked)...fry till beans are soft and done...add salt, chilli powder and jeera powder and mix well.
